Web Developer/Designer: Morgan Murphy Media a family-owned operator of TV, Radio, and Magazine properties in Wisconsin and Washington, is aggressively searching for an experienced Web Developer/ Designer to support our digital needs at all locations. Among the responsibilities of this position will be the ability to provide leadership in designing intuitive site functionality, user interface and navigation; design and front-end development for the various MMM websites, applications and other digital assets; produce quality responsive webpage development and design for external clients. This position will also provide support for the implementation of third party digital applications and have the ability to work within multiple content management systems to take projects from conception to completion.
Accountant: Morgan Murphy Media is seeking a well-organized, detail oriented, experienced Accountant to join our staff at our corporate headquarters at WISC-TV in beautiful Madison, Wisconsin. The primary responsibilities of this position will include weekly payroll processing for our four Wisconsin operations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliations, assistance with the general ledger close, and other accounting duties as assigned.
Our idea candidate will possess a minimum of a 2-year associate degree in accounting and/or 3-4 years of relevant accounting experience; proficiency with Microsoft Excel, excellent interpersonal skills, and a curiosity to explore system enhancements and process improvements. Strong consideration will be given to candidates with prior experience with ADP’s Workforce Now payroll software.
Master Control Operator: WISC-TV currently has an opening for a part-time weekend overnight Master Control Operator. Duties include proper airing of program and commercial material, recording shows from satellite, and accurate maintenance of program and transmitter logs. Hours for this position are 11p-7a Fridays and Saturdays with the possibility of more hours during the week.
Qualifications include ability to concentrate on simultaneously occurring tasks and flexibility in scheduling. Prefer prior master control experience; experience in other areas of television or radio broadcast operations is also a plus.
Brand Developer: WISC-TV, Southern Wisconsin’s number one news station in Madison, is looking for a creative Brand Developer to create, develop, and execute marketing strategies to build on the brand of a legacy station that just won three national Murrow Awards. This critical role will help create, maintain, and enhance the overall look of our newscasts and the promotional efforts for those newscasts. This includes graphic design elements, show opens, talent branding, image promotions, topical promotion production, and custom news graphics for signature storytelling. The successful candidate will be able to present ideas that will enhance our brand and take those ideas from conception to completion, which includes writing, shooting, editing, and creating necessary graphics and animation to support the brand. To be considered you must have 2-3 years of experience in a radio or television newsroom or marketing department, possess a degree in journalism, be able to demonstrate accurate and comprehensive writing, photography, and editing skills, and have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record. Previous experience with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Avid preferred.
News Reporter: WISC-TV, Southern Wisconsin’s number one news station in Madison, is looking for an enterprising general assignment television news reporter with the ability to tell compelling stories. Duties include turning stories on a daily basis, live reporting, and covering breaking news situations. We are looking for a creative storyteller who has the ability to find enterprise stories and deliver them to multiple platforms. The ideal candidate will be both skilled at working with a photographer and as an MMJ depending on the daily assignment. In addition to our television newscasts, we place a strong emphasis on our award-winning website, htpp://www.channel3000.com, our social networking efforts, and our growing mobile digital content. We expect this position to provide on-going content contributions to all offerings. This position requires a valid driver’s license and a good driving record and could involve weekend and evening hours. Candidates for consideration will have a bachelor’s degree in Journalism or related field, hard news experience, 1-2 years news reporting, the ability to turn stories on deadline, and live reporting experience. Prior anchoring experience is a plus.
