Graphic Designer/Videographer/Video Editor:  WISC-TV, Southern Wisconsin’s number one news station in Madison, is looking for a creative Brand Developer to create, develop, and execute marketing strategies to build on the brand of a legacy station. This critical role will help create, maintain, and enhance the overall look of  newscasts and promotional efforts for those newscasts.  This includes graphic design elements, show opens, talent branding, image promotions, topical promotion production, and custom news graphics for signature storytelling.  The successful candidate will be able to present ideas that will enhance our brand and take those ideas from conception to completion. This includes writing, shooting, editing, and creating necessary graphics to support the brand.
To be considered you must have 2-3 years of experience in a television newsroom or similar marketing department, be able to demonstrate video shooting and editing skills, graphics and writing skills. Previous experience with Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.

Web Developer/Designer:  Morgan Murphy Media a family-owned operator of TV, Radio, and Magazine properties in Wisconsin and Washington, is aggressively searching for an experienced Web Developer/ Designer to support our digital needs at all locations. Among the responsibilities of this position will be the ability to provide leadership in designing intuitive site functionality, user interface and navigation; design and front-end development for the various MMM websites, applications and other digital assets; produce quality responsive webpage development and design for external clients.  This position will also provide support for the implementation of third party digital applications and have the ability to work within multiple content management systems to take projects from conception to completion.
The successful candidate has proven web development experience, a strong understanding of responsive design and strategies for implementation, and proficiency with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, WordPress, and an ability to hand code CSS/HTML/JavaScript. We are looking for someone with impeccable attention to detail, time management skills, and a collaborative approach to problem solving, and are able to pay a competitive salary for the right individual.

News Reporter: WISC-TV, Southern Wisconsin’s number one news station in Madison, is looking for an enterprising general assignment television news reporter with the ability to tell compelling stories.  Duties include turning stories on a daily basis, live reporting, and covering breaking news situations.  We are looking for a creative storyteller who has the ability to find enterprise stories and deliver them to multiple platforms. The ideal candidate will be both skilled at working with a photographer and as an MMJ depending on the daily assignment.  In addition to our television newscasts, we place a strong emphasis on our award-winning website, htpp://www.channel3000.com, our social networking efforts, and our growing mobile digital content. We expect this position to provide on-going content contributions to all offerings. This position requires a valid driver’s license and a good driving record and could involve weekend and evening hours. Candidates for consideration will have a bachelor’s degree in Journalism or related field, hard news experience, 1-2 years news reporting, the ability to turn stories on deadline, and live reporting experience.  Prior anchoring experience is a plus.

Chief EngineerWKBT-TV, the La Crosse, WI affiliate of Morgan Murphy Media, is aggressively searching for a Chief Engineer to manage and supervise our Engineering and Operations staff. This position has overall responsibility for the television broadcasting technical facilities and includes project management, staff development, and administrative functions. Duties include supervising the troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of all broadcast equipment, including transmitters, ENG systems, studio gear, and facilities. Hands on repair will be necessary at times. Oversee an IT systems technician and a operations technician, prepare and administer capital and operating budgets for technical facilities, manage, develop, schedule and supervise operations crew, ensure station compliance with all FCC and OSHA regulations.
This is a department-head level position that requires close interaction with other departments. Qualifications include 5 years’ experience in television broadcast engineering; PC literacy; valid Wisconsin driver’s license, and flexible schedule. Candidate must possess a strong electronics background, a working knowledge of digital electronics and broadcast IT, and the ability to manage a staff. Candidate must also have a strong knowledge of RF and FCC rules and regulations.
Prefer SBE certification; experience in remote television and computer-networking. Prior experience in a supervisory role or as a Chief engineer is helpful.

Master Control OperatorWKBT-TV News 8 is seeking a full-time employee for Master Control Operator.  Prior television production experience is preferred but not required. Candidates must be able to work independently. Duties include: Maintaining station logs, monitoring quality and accuracy of on-air broadcast, playback of recorded programming, responding to timing changes at a moment’s notice, taking accurate transmitter readings, recording and logging video feeds. This is an entry-level, full-time position with benefits. The position will include overnight, weekend and holiday shifts.
