PLATTEVILEE, Wis. -

Platteville police are warning residents of a scam in which victims' debit card information are being targeted.

First National Bank officials said they notified police that members are receiving automated phone calls from someone claiming to be First National Bank Security.

The message asked members to reactivate their debit card and to provide passcode numbers, police said.

First National Bank has identified this as a scam and asks members not to provide any personal information in response to this automated call. 

Authorities are asking anyone who has provided any information in response to a similar call to please contact local law enforcement agency and the financial institution to report details.
