In the era of Facebook and Twitter, a local company is taking off.
Shoutlet is a Madison-based company that handles social marketing for its clients. It has more than 80 employees and some 400 clients.
Company officials announced on Thursday that they have raised $24 million from outside investors -- with its sights set on growth.
Jason Weaver, the company's CEO and founder, said their goal is to grow the company in the Badger state.
"You know, we plan on adding a significant number of jobs here in Madison, Wis., which I consider our home," he said. "And Madison has always been tremendously supportive of us. The (University of Wisconsin-Madison) has always supported us here locally and has really welcomed us as a community and a company so we were very clear with our new investors that we wanted to build jobs here in Madison."
Weaver said that Shoutlet's revenue shot up 200 percent in the last year. The company just started in January 2010.
