DES MOINES, Iowa -- A Powerball ticket worth more than $224 million was sold at a convenience store in St. Louis. Missouri Lottery officials said on Thursday that the ticket for Wednesday night's drawing was sold at a QuikTrip at 2791 Dunn Road. No winner has come forward. The jackpot is the largest ever won in Missouri and the seventh-largest in Powerball history. Missouri Lottery spokesman Gary Gonder said Powerball players who buy tickets at the Dunn Road QuikTrip should check the numbers carefully. The winning combination is 16-26-34-35-41, and the Powerball number was 24. The $224.2 million-dollar jackpot would be paid out in 30 installments over 29 years. If the winner elects to take a lump-sum payment, it would be worth almost $103 million before taxes. The winner has 60 days to decide on a payment option and 180 days to claim the prize. Tickets that match the first five numbers, but miss the Powerball, win $200,000 each, and there were nine of those. They were sold in Arizona, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and West Virginia. Powerball is played in 28 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
