Winner Has Been Verified, Not Identified

The Nebraska Lottery said it has identified the winner of the $365 million Powerball jackpot.

The lottery has scheduled a news conference at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the ballroom at the Cornhusker Hotel.

A representative of the person or persons holding the winning ticket has contact the lottery by phone.

The ticket has been verified through a series of questions about when the ticket was bought, who sold the ticket and whether the winner was alone when he or she bought the ticket.

The person or persons holding the winning ticket has agreed to attend the news conference.

No further identity has been provided. The winner or winners has an attorney.

Tuesday afternoon, a representative for the Nebraska Lottery said a single winning ticket for the Feb. 18 drawing was sold at the U-Stop at 110 O St. in Lincoln at 3:09 p.m. Friday. It was a Five Play Quick Pick ticket.
