MADISON, Wis. -- Business is reportedly picking up for places near the new Overture Center.
State Street owners told News 3 they are noticing more foot traffic in the area since Overture's opening two weeks ago.
The owner of Michelangelo's Coffee said he hopes Overture will continue to work to draw the average person and not just the wealthy.
The owner at Kimia Lounge said he is getting more Overture goers for his dinner hour.
"These are consumers and guests who are motivated by better quality, better everything, and this is exactly what downtown Madison was looking for -- especially the square area," said Kami Eshraghi.
However, Eshraghi said sales during the late-night bar time are down some nights because older clientele don't stay as late or purchase as many beverages as some younger customers. He said he expects as time goes on, the late-night business will resume to normal.
