Updated: 7:46 am CDT June 24, 2009

Gov. Jim Doyle helped open the Kerry Innovation and Technical Center in Beloit on Tuesday afternoon.

The $50 million facility relocates more than 250 jobs.

Doyle said projects like Kerry are exactly what the state needs to bring the economy back.

"We must make sure that we focus on what our most important priorities are," said Doyle. "And that we make good investments in those areas that we know are going to be able to grown and prosper as the economy turns around and this country gets back going again. Kerry is exactly that company."

The state invested $6 million to help Kerry grow.

Kerry is a world leader in food ingredients and flavors for the food and beverage industry.
