Resorts Serve Thanksgiving Meals

WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. -- The Wisconsin Dells used to see business decline in winter, but with indoor water parks, many hotels will be packed to capacity for Thanksgiving.
VIDEO: Watch The ReportResorts said that Thanksgiving has been good to them in the past, and even in this year's tight economy, effective promotion and good deals have kept them competitive."It's a lot more fun (and) less stressful. You can just relax and have a good time," said Jackie Solboe, who is visiting Wisconsin Dells for Thanksgiving.Both Wilderness Resort and Mount Olympus Resort said they'll be booked solid beginning Thursday."This year, I think we were a little more into adding the value to your stay. Santa Clause will be here this weekend for breakfast, (and) we've got a great Thanksgiving buffet planned," said Joe Eck, of Wilderness Resort.Mount Olympus Resort picked this weekend to debut a new attraction -- indoor go-karts. The resort said they will be up and running Thursday."I think another big role is the reduced gas prices. It's really helping people reconsider traveling, and getting out. We're getting people from Madison, Milwaukee and Chicago," said Troy Loferski, of Mount Olympus Resort.Many resorts are also planning huge Thanksgiving feasts. At the Wilderness Resort, there are four different restaurants serving up Thanksgiving meals.
