What is your favorite part about living in Madison?

Too many favorites to count! If I had to pick, it would be Wisconsin summers. All of the beautiful bodies of water, with the addition of the Union Terrace, is pure bliss!

What is the biggest news story that you've covered?

Covering multiple 2016 presidential candidate rallies, including Sen. Bernie Sanders and Sen. Marco Rubio; then covering the local and state 2016 November election.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I’m not going to lie, in the winter, my free time is mostly spent sitting at home watching Netflix, or sitting at a coffee shop reading. When the summer rolls around, you can find me outside on the water in a kayak, tubing on my friend’s boat or hiking at Devil’s Lake State Park.

What is your favorite kind of ice cream?

Mint Chocolate Chip!

What is your favorite place to vacation?

Hands down – Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. My family and I have been to Disney at least 30 times. I also worked there during my sophomore year of college through the Disney College Program, which was the best experience of my life. I still try to make a trip once a year if my budget allows!

Who is your hero and why?

My Grandpa Steve is definitely my hero. He fought in WWII on a destroyer and truly taught me what sacrifice and being a hero means. He passed away from a brain tumor when I was ten, but was an amazing role model up until then. I still remember a lot of his life lessons.

What was your favorite band when you were in high school?

I don’t think I had the same favorite all four years, but I remember loving The Jonas Brothers my freshman and sophomore year. My best friend got me a ticket to their concert in Milwaukee for my birthday one year, and I was overjoyed.

What is your favorite sport to play or watch?

My favorite sport to participate in is swimming. I swam from 8-years-old to my junior year of high school. My favorite sport to watch is football. Go Packers!

Going along with my previous answer, I would say being patient.

What is your most memorable travel experience?

My best friend and I went to Marseille, France the summer after our senior year of high school. We went for three weeks and spent three of those days in Paris. It was truly incredible.

What is the worst job you have ever had?

I mentioned earlier that working in Disney World through the Disney College Program was the best experience of my life, and that’s completely true; however, the actual job was not all that magical. I worked in a fast food restaurant in the park, Epcot. My costume consisted of a heavy, colonial style dress, long apron, and a white bonnet that covered my hair. On hot days, that outfit was not fit for a fast food job.
