More than 30 places join Sustainable Seafood Week

Monday, June 12-Sunday, June 18
Something seems fishy about this week. It could be attributed to Sustainable Seafood Week hosted by the Madison Area Chef’s Network initiative in partnership with Sitka Salmon Shares, Sea to Table and the James Beard Foundation. More than 30 Madison restaurants will feature $10 dishes on menus, putting sustainable seafood in the spotlight. Apart from featured dishes all week, some restaurants are hosting special events. Wednesday, June 14
Bourbon lovers celebrate National Bourbon Day with J. Henry & Sons at Cask & Ale. Sample hand-crafted bourbons while learning about its production from owners Joe and Liz. In addition to bourbon samples, each person gets a small-batch Manhattan cocktail and a keepsake whiskey glass. Signed bottles of small-batch bourbon bottles will be for sale at the event. $25, 5:30-7:30 p.m., isthmustickets.com

Thursday, June 15
Take a trip to The Edgewater for a night of sipping rosé and snacking on small bites. Wines coming from Italy, the Southern Hemisphere and the United States pair with corresponding types of cuisine. Highlights include a duck leg arancini with a ramp aioli and aleppo chili and a strawberry shortcake with rosé and cardamom macerated strawberries. $40, 7:30 p.m., isthmustickets.com

It’s time to have party on The Wise’s patio for a Pig Roast. Grab some friends to chow down on summer classics while sipping on drinks at the bar. The menu includes roast pig, jerk chicken, macaroni and cheese, baked beans and coleslaw. $15, thewiserestaurant.com

Saturday, June 17
At Mad City Vegan Fest, vegan foods and sustainable practices are the stars of the show. There will be a large vegan food court from some local restaurants including Ladonia Cafe, The Green Owl and Brown Rice and Honey. Sunday, June 18
Celebrate dad on Father's Day with some delicious brews at Karben4 Brewing. He'll likely love the Sunday brunch with tasty items including house-made biscuits and two fried eggs with Lonely Oak pork sausage and gravy, or a wheat French toast with house-made fruit compote.
