October is the time each year for a bibliophile’s dream, the Wisconsin Book Festival.
Events will be held at the Central Library and other area venues, bringing together authors and book lovers in a feast of the written word. This year’s winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, Viet Thanh Nguyen, will discuss his book, “The Sympathizer,” on Oct. 22.
High-level nonfiction writers will also consider topics such as race in America (Jeff Chang); the things we surrender in pursuit of technology (Nicholas Carr); and the lifelong obsession and story behind William Shakespeare’s First Folio (Andrea Mays).
Wisconsin Book Festival Director Conor Moran says Mays’ reading is the first of several connected to the Year of Shakespeare in Wisconsin, a national tour celebrating the Bard of Avon. October 20-23
