Each season, a costume staff of about 50 people, including a draper, stitchers, a wig master (who helps make more than 40 wigs each year), a dyer and a craft master (who oversees accessories), create the wardrobes for nine shows. Costumes are stored in a room with clothing racks stacked three high (with a rolling ladder to access the top racks) and eight wide and organized by categories such as time periods (Greco-Roman, Elizabethan) and specific pieces (pumpkin breeches, bustles).
