Accreditor recognizes Mendota Mental Health for inpatient psychiatric services
MMHI named top performer on psychiatric services quality measures
A leading accreditor of health care organizations recognized Mendota Mental Health Institute for achieving excellence in performance on accountability measures during 2012.
The Joint Commission named MMHI as a top performer on key quality measures for the hospital-based inpatient psychiatric services measure set, according to a release. The commission also recognized MMHI’s commitment to accreditation and to positive patient outcomes through evidence-based care processes.
“I am extremely proud and pleased that Mendota Mental Health Institute has been recognized for its success in a challenging and sensitive field,” Wisconsin Department of Health Services Secretary Kitty Rhoades said. “I am confident MMHI will continue to be a national leader in psychiatric treatment for generations to come.”
MMHI, located in Madison, provides court-ordered inpatient psychiatric services for people from all over the state, according to the release.
“The individuals we serve face many challenges, challenges most people only read about or sometimes hear about on the news,” Dr. Greg Van Rybroek, CEO of MMHI, said. “We are very fortunate to have highly skilled and hard-working employees who devote themselves to providing quality care, treatment and a safe environment to the individuals we serve.”
Rybroek said even though they have received the award, they recognize there is always more that can be done and are dedicated to continuous improvement.
