Officials Confirm 11 Deaths Related To H1N1 Virus Last Week
4 Deaths Occurred In Dane, Portage Counties

MADISON, Wis. -- State health officials are confirming 11 more deaths related to the swine flu in Wisconsin.The state Department of Health Services said on Wednesday the deaths were confirmed in the past week across the state, bringing to 31 the number of deaths statewide since last spring.The new deaths includes two in Dane County and two in Portage County, and single cases in Jefferson, Kenosha, Marathon, Oconto, Ozaukee, Racine and Waupaca counties.Department officials said the cases of the so-called swine flu are modestly decreasing across the state, but the presence of the virus still remains widespread.
