H1N1 flu cases have now been reported in 52 of Wisconsin's 72 counties and led to 26 hospitalizations since Sept. 1, according to state health officials.

The newest figures are included in the state Department of Health's weekly update on the flu virus, also known as the swine flu.

This strain of the flu virus has led to one death this fall and nine this year.

Wisconsin has received about 213,000 doses of flu vaccine since Oct. 9. The initial shipments went to larger hospitals, clinic systems and public health agencies so they could begin to vaccinate health care workers.

The Rock County Health Department will be holding H1N1 vaccination clinics at schools beginning Oct. 27. The clinics are not just for students and will be open after school from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. for those at the highest risk.

The state health department said three schools have closed for multiple days so far this fall due to swine flu. They are the Wisconsin Dells High School, River Valley Middle School in Spring Green and the Medford Area School District.

Public Health -- Madison and Dane County is holding a news conference Friday morning on the H1N1 situation.
