Updated: 12:25 pm CDT May 15, 2009

State health officials said Thursday that Wisconsin has 613 confirmed flu cases.

The state Department of Health Services said Thursday that most of those are in Milwaukee County, which now has 424 confirmed cases of the so-called swine flu, or H1N1 virus.

The state's number jumped from 508 on Wednesday. There are no longer any probable cases.

The state said the ages of those infected range from 3 months old to 79 years old, but 75 percent of the patients are under the age of 20.

In Fond du Lac County, St. Lawrence Seminary said end-of-the-year public events are being canceled because of two confirmed swine flu cases, one involving a student and the other a staff member.

Students showing any symptoms have been isolated. Some graduation events will still be held, but open only to students showing no symptoms.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that nearly 4,300 cases of swine flu have been confirmed nationwide, with three deaths.

Only Illinois has more confirmed cases than Wisconsin.
