The state-of-the-art facility will bring hundreds of scientists together under one roof -- all working to find a cure for cancer.

"There will be discoveries made that are going to have incredible far-reaching consequences," said Doyle. "(It will have) positive consequences for people not only in the state of Wisconsin, not only in the United States but throughout the world."

The seven-story, $185 million facility is attached to the University of Wisconsin Hospital.

By working near doctors and patients, researchers will be able to develop and test new ways to prevent and treat all kinds of cancer, WISC-TV reported.
