The organization launched a national campaign at the state Capitol, joining in were more than 100 national and local groups that represented labor, community organizations and many in the health industry, WISC-TV reported.

Officials with the group said their goal was to ensure that the next U.S. president focused on providing quality and affordable health care for all.

"I'm not able to put patient care first. First I have to ask if 'I'm a preferred provider?' Then, 'Is my treatment going to put them in financial burden?'" said Dr. Aaron Dunn, medical director for the Community Connections clinic in Dodgeville, Wis.

The group said it wants every American to contribute about 8 percent of their income to cover a universal health care policy.

Health Care for America Now said it plans to spend $1.5 million in national television, print and online advertising.
