MADISON, Wis. -- Madison's Meriter Hospital is teaming up with a consulting firm as it debates physical changes to its Park Street campus. The average Meriter building is about 40 years old, and treatment and operating rooms have changed drastically over the years in terms of size and technological demands, WISC-TV reported. The hospital is also getting feedback from neighbors as it maps out possible changes."We're making plans for Meriter for the next five, 10 and 30 years because with any of this work it requires a significant investment and you don't want to have to undo anything you've done because you didn't plan far enough ahead," said Mae Knowles, in media relations at Meriter hospital. Some immediate changes at the hospital will include making the hospital along Park Street more user-friendly. In the long term, the hospital said it will convert all patient rooms to private rooms and make major physical changes inside and out.
