Fitchburg Snuffs Out Smoking With Ban
Four Places Have Exemptions In Fitchburg

FITCHBURG, Wis. -- Fitchburg on Tuesday joins the city of Madison by officially going smoke free starting today.Fitchburg is the fourth Wisconsin municipality with a smoking ban. The ordinance bans smoking in all public places except for four places that have exemptions until 2011.The Fitchburg ban is similar to the statewide proposal that has stalled in the state Legislature until next year.Currently, 23 states have banned smoking in bars and restaurants.
