Poll: Majority Support State-Run Health Care In Wisconsin
61 Percent Support Encouraging People To Use Health Savings Account

MADISON, Wis. -- A new poll shows that a majority of Wisconsin residents support a state-run health insurance system.The University of Wisconsin Survey Center's Badger Poll said that 51 percent of respondents support such a change. The poll's margin of error is plus or minus 4 percentage points.A larger majority of 61 percent support encouraging people to put money into a tax-free health savings account that would help pay for health care costs.Seventy-two percent favor requiring all people to have insurance, and 82 percent support expanding existing state government health insurance programs for low-income people.The poll of 507 people was conducted between Nov. 27 and Dec. 5.
