9-Year Old Girl Will Travel To China For Stem Cell Injections
Waukesha Family Ready For Experimental Treatment

WAUKESHA, Wis. -- A Waukesha family will travel to China later this week for radical stem cell injections.Roger and Nancy Schindler said that they're hoping the experimental treatment will improve their 9-year-old daughter's life. Rachael is developmentally disabled and has limited mobility from a rare brain disorder.Rachael will have one month of stem cell injections and physical therapy six days a week at a medical center there.Her mother said that it might seem like small steps, but the Schindlers' hope that soon Rachael will be able to finish saying the alphabet or eat a meal unassisted.Their daughter is a third-grader at Rose Glen Elementary School.
