MADISON, Wis. -- The state Department of Transportation has launched a new study to determine how the Dutch Mill Park & Ride lot, located off Stoughton Road, can be expanded.

Officials said they're investigating because of overcrowding at the lot. They said that they've noticed the increase in the last couple months.

They said that they suspect the increase is tied soaring gas prices, WISC-TV reported.

DOT officials said that Madison Metro bus officials confirm ridership on routes leaving the lot are also up as well as long-term parking allowed for tour buses like Van Galder.
