MADISON, Wis. -- Ground was broken on a new state-of-the-art wind farm on Thursday.

In about a year, people passing through the townships of Eden and Empire will see 41 wind turbines throughout the countryside.

The turbines will produce electricity to Alliant and WPL customers in the area, WISC-TV reported.

Alliant officials called the project another way they maintain renewable energy in the state.
