A mild start to the work week

Forecast for February 26, 2017

Tonight will be mostly clear and seasonably cold with temperatures falling into the lower 20s by early Monday morning.

Monday will be partly sunny and mild with highs in the middle 40s. Skies will become mostly cloudy Monday night as a storm system approaches from the southwest. Temperatures will drop into the 30s Monday evening, but as clouds increase, temperatures will rise into the lower 40s by early Tuesday morning. Rain showers will develop late Monday night, but may be mixed with some snow in areas north of Madison.

The storm system will continue to head toward Wisconsin on Tuesday with mostly cloudy skies and some showers and isolated thunderstorms. Winds will be breezy on Tuesday with very mild high temperatures in the lower 50s. The back side of the low pressure system will bring a chance of light snow to southern Wisconsin on Wednesday, although the snow may be mixed with rain early in the day. Highs on Wednesday will reach the upper 30s in the morning, before temperatures fall through the 30s. 

Thursday will be mostly cloudy and seasonably cold with a chance of snow showers or flurries. Highs will reach the middle 30s. Friday will be partly sunny and continued seasonably cold with highs in the middle 30s. As warmer air starts to head toward Wisconsin Friday night, skies will become mostly cloudy with a chance of flurries developing.  

The weekend looks to be quite mild for this time of year. Saturday will become partly sunny, breezy and milder with highs in the middle to upper 40s. Sunday will be partly sunny, breezy and mild with highs in the lower 50s. A storm system will head toward Wisconsin Sunday night with rain showers developing.

The following work week will be unsettled at the start. Rain will mix with or change to snow on Monday with highs in the 40s in the morning, before temperatures fall in the afternoon. Next Tuesday will be breezy with a chance of light snow showers and highs in the lower 30s.
