The Hanso Foundation can't be happy about the latest craze on eBay.

Apollo Candy Bars are showing up on the Internet auction site, and being snapped up for anywhere between $10 and $60. The bars, seen on "Lost" being eaten by the plane crash survivors and being dropped in mysterious food shipments, are being given out at events nationwide.

The promotion is part of ABC's "Inside the Experience," a Web-based world in which participants investigate the shadowy Hanso Foundation and its founder, Alvar Hanso. A mysterious character, Persephone, periodically releases information about the foundation, giving "Lost" fans further pieces of the puzzle.

Those lucky enough to get their hands on a bar are instructed to take a picture of themselves holding the wrapper and upload it to a "Lost Experience" site.

About to begin its third season, "Lost" has drawn a legion of dedicated fans who show a voracious appetite for the mysteries behind the show, obsessing over every detail of every episode and trying to stay a step ahead of the writers. Thousands of message boards and Web sites have cropped up devoted to the show, and ABC has gotten into the game with sites such as the Apollo Candy Company one.

There's a bit of Wonka to the candy bar promotion, as "Golden Oracle" bars have been interspersed among the supply. Holders of the oracle bars are urged to upload a code from the wrapper, and when enough codes have been entered, there will supposedly be another revelation from Persephone.

The "Lost" mythology is immense, and the candy bars have their own segment. The Wikipedia-like "Lostpedia" allows fans to warehouse information.

Season 3 of "Lost" premieres Oct. 4 at 9:00 p.m. ET on ABC.
