Engineering students designed the playground for a new children's hospital in Honduras.

Students met with the clients and designed it from scratch on a $3,000 budget, along with some local donations, WISC-TV reported.

Organizers said that the playground was the class project that also served a very special purpose.

"This playground is designed for the kids to use both for recreation and then also therapeutic play for developing muscle dexterity and things of that sort. So our students worked with the client to design a playground for children with all abilities," said MATC chemistry and engineering professor Ken Walz.

The playground was also designed to be disassembled, sent to New Orleans and then shipped to Honduras, where they'll present it to their clients.
