MADISON, Wis. -

The next deadline to sign up for Wisconsin’s No Call List is Saturday, according to a release.

According to the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, Wisconsin residents need to renew their registrations if it has been more than two years since the number was originally added to the list.

The free, no call service covers residential land and cellphone lines, according to the release. Any Wisconsin resident can sign up for the list.

Residents who add their numbers to the list before the deadline will be protected from unsolicited telemarketing phone calls and text messages starting Oct. 1, officials said.

The list is updated four times per calendar year in January, April, July and October, according to the release. The registration process is continuous, but residents who sign up after the upcoming deadline will not be added to the list until Jan. 1 at the earliest.
