This is the easy way to have chocolate chip cookies. For less fat and calories, substitute part of the shortening with Z Trim.*

1 cup butter-flavored shortening or ½ cup shortening and ½ cup Z Trim gel* 3/4 cup sugar 3/4 cup brown sugar 2 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon salt 2 1/4 cups flour 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a 10 x 15 inch baking pan or two 9 x 2 inch pans. In a large bowl, combine shortening, sugar, and brown sugar. Beat well. Add eggs and beat well. Add vanilla, baking soda, and salt. Beat well. Stir in flour. Stir in chocolate chips. Spoon into baking pan. Bake for 15 - 20 minutes or until lightly brown. Do not over bake.

*For a bar with less fat, use only ½ cup shortening and add ½ cup of Z Trim 4 percent gel.
