Apple Cranberry Crostata

This is such an attractive dessert that your guests will think you went to a lot of work but it is really simple to prepare.

Crust

Filling

Crumb Topping

Egg wash

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place parchment paper on large baking pan with sides. Roll pie crust out onto parchment paper. Set aside. In a large bowl, combine Splenda or sugar, butter, and vanilla. Add sliced apples and stir to coat apples. Spoon apples onto middle of pie crust leaving a 2 inch border.

To prepare the topping, combine all topping ingredients in a small food processor. Blend well. Sprinkle topping over the apples. Pull the edges of the pie crust up and pinch dough every few inches to help it stay in place. Brush the folded up edges of dough with egg white and sprinkle with sugar.

Bake for 35 - 45 minutes or until crust is lightly brown and apples are tender.
