Mariah Carey's dress drama on 'GMA'
Singer has near-wardrobe malfunction
On "Good Morning America" Friday, Mariah Carey certainly woke viewers up with a near-wardrobe malfunction.
The singer was chatting with "GMA's" Lara Spencer during her performance in Central Park as part of the show's summer concert series when her sparkly floor-length pink Versace gown gave up.
"Now the back of my dress just popped," the frustrated singer said. When she spun around, viewers could see that the top half of the back of the gown had split apart.
Spencer held on to one of Carey's straps while an assistant ran up to attend to the other side. Carey, trying to keep the mood light, joked that she could also just hold up her cleavage throughout the set.
After changing into a different pink dress, Carey was apparently still feeling flustered as she let another curse word slip while introducing her "Beautiful" collaborator, Miguel. The censors didn't catch her "oh, s***."
We're sure Miguel understood the precarious nature of a live performance, though - he's still grappling with the infamy that came after he struck a woman in the face with his leg at last Sunday's Billboard Music Awards
When it was all said and done, Carey could find support from her fans. "Thank you for standing in the rain while I was dealing with the ensem drama etc.," she told her fans on Twitter. "I love you so much!"
