MADISON, Wis. -

The weather was perfect for the fourth annual Ride the Drive event this weekend around downtown Madison.

Some downtown Madison streets were closed to vehicles and opened up to bikers, walkers, and skaters as part of the event.

Last year, some business owners said that Ride the Drive hurt them because of the closed roads.

This year, however, owners said that this year went much smoother.

"I don't know if it's because of the weather or people are getting to know it a little better, but it's definitely been constantly steady all day today," Dino Christ, owner of Nick's Restaurant.

This year, city officials opened up some cross streets to help make sure businesses didn't see a drop in sales.

The next Ride the Drive will be Aug. 12 on the city's north side.
