Channing Tatum's banner year is ending on a personal high note.
The actor and his wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, both 32, are expecting their first child next year, CNN's confirmed.
The happy news is exactly what the "Magic Mike" star has been looking forward to sharing, as he told People magazine in November that he was ready to expand his family.
"I'm ready; I think she's ready," said Tatum, who was named the year's Sexiest Man Alive. "It's more about trying to find the right time."
As far as how many they'd like to have, "The first number that pops into my head is three," he continued, "but I just want one to be healthy and then we'll see where we go after that."
Tatum and his wife began dating after they co-starred in 2006's dance film "Step Up," and tied the knot in July 2009.
