Blake Edwards Getting Honorary Oscar
Filmmaker Did 'Breakfast At Tiffanys,' Pink Panther Movies

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is giving legendary filmmaker Blake Edwards an honorary Oscar to celebrate his 50-plus years in the film business.
Edwards wrote and directed the Pink Panther movies starring Peter Sellers, as well as "10," "Victor/Victoria" and "S.O.B.," which starred his wife, legendary entertainer Julie Andrews (interview).
Edwards, 81, has never won an Oscar. His only nomination came for writing "Victor/Victoria," which he later turned into a Broadway musical starring Andrews.
Andrews won a Best Actress Oscar for the classic movie musical "Mary Poppins."
Edwards will be awarded his honorary Oscar at the Academy Awards ceremony in Hollywood, Calif., Feb. 29.
