MADISON, Wis. -- An online video produced to help boost the University of Wisconsin's reputation has gone viral, and it may now be winning the hearts of future students. What started as a song with a catchy beat now has people asking, "Will you teach me how to Bucky?""All these other schools or people are asking, 'How can we be as cool as UW?'" said UW senior Quincy Kwalae. "So I guess that's what 'Teach Me How to Bucky' is."Kwalae co-wrote the song, which is more about a feeling than a dance step. He collaborated with his friend, UW junior Logan Cascia, to produce the music video."Teach Me How to Bucky" made its debut at Saturday's homecoming game. "You could hear it, when it premiered at Camp Randall, the stadium went nuts," said Cascia. "It got such a great response."The video is full of cameos, including one from UW band director Mike Leckrone.
"It was really all ad-lib," Leckrone said. "I'm just sort of taken back by the fact that people are saying, 'Teach me how to do the Bucky,' and I say I'm not even sure I remember what I did."UW Chancellor Biddy Martin even bobs her head on camera."We had no plan on what to do," said Kwalae. "We go into her office and she was like, 'Tell me what to do, I'll do whatever.'"No one involved with making the song and video made a dime. They're just happy to show the world what UW is all about."This is why we're the best school," Kwalae said. "This is why you want to come here. This is where everything fun is happening."To watch the "Teach Me To Bucky" YouTube video, click here.
