The sounds of silence it is. For the second time in recent months, '60s rock legends Simon & Garfunkel has called off their upcoming show in Madison.

The reunited duo of Art Garfunkel and Paul Simon had planned a show on July 14 at the Coliseum at the Alliant Energy Center. This was a rescheduled date after the pair postponed a concert earlier this spring because of Garfunkel's throat problems.

The duo, which scored hits in the late '60s with songs like "The Sounds Of Silence," "Mrs. Robinson," and "Bridge Over Troubled Waters," had planned to tour in April. Now, the classic rockers have indefinitely postponed their tour because of Garfunkel's "vocal paresis. While doctors have said Garfunkel's voice will recover, they can't predict a timeline of when that will occur, according to a news release issued by Frank Productions, the concert's promoter.

"I do feel bad about disrupting so many people’s plans but, as I continue to mend, I can’t yet bring my 'A Game' to a tour, and I would not perform for you with anything less," Garfunkel was quoted as saying in the news release. The pair said that they plan to reschedule the dates after he recovers.

Organizers said that tickets can be refunded at place of purchase on Monday, June 21, at 10 a.m, They said that for more information, people can call the Coliseum Ticket office 608-267-3955. Internet and phone orders will be refund automatically.
