MADISON, Wis. -- Several area residents spoke on Monday night at a community meeting held to hear what neighbors thought of a proposed nightclub that could come to the city's East Side. The nightclub, which would be called Plan B, would be located on Williamson Street in the old Star Photo building. A plan to have the nightspot located near the Red Caboose Daycare Center fell through last year, WISC-TV reported.Alderwoman Marsha Rummel said that the meeting allowed people to weigh in on the idea."I think there is support for the idea (of) a dance club and a gay-friendly bar," she said. "I think there (are) also concerns of the size and capacity and the impacts of parking and the neighbors. So, there (are) still some discussions to be had."Rico Sabatini, who is proposing nightclub, said that the vision for the club hasn't been altered."I understand that it's a little more residential because there is some homes across the street and to the left here," he said. "But, the concept hasn't changed. It's going to be more of a lounging atmosphere. We are going to have dancing maybe three times a week and live cabaret shows."The meeting was organized by the neighborhood's city council representative and the club's developer. The club, which is still in its early stages, would have to go back to the Madison Common Council for final approval, WISC-TV reported.
