Sabin consults and plans singles events for twenty-somethings on up, including divorcees and people who just want a date. We asked her for her top dating tips.1. Date more than one person. "Most people don't think a dating coach would recommend that. But it's really important not to jump into anything. Women just obsess; they overthink everything. They're really excited when that guy calls, and think, 'of course I'll go out with him.' If your connection keeps on creating then you keep on dating that person and you stop dating the other people."2. Be a conscious dater. "Step back and think, 'What do I like about this person, and what could be a problem?' Make a list of what you're looking for. You're just looking to see if you want the next date. People automatically get in their mind 'I'm looking for a spouse,' and that comes across to everyone they meet."3. Listen. "People say to me, 'I don't understand why my date didn't call me,' after they've gone out. I ask them what they know about the other person and they get stuck, because they were talking the whole time. If you start asking your date questions and make them the center of attention, you'll make a great date."4. Dress appropriately and comfortably. "Women dress to feel sexy and that's great, but sometime that skirt is too short and that blouse is too low cut. If it's too low cut, he's not going to be concentrating on what you're saying."5. Keep the date short. "For some reason we have this impression that a date starts at 7 p.m. and ends at midnight. You want to keep the mystery there, the excitement. Get coffee or lunch."To continue reading, visit MadisonMagazine.com.
