WEST ALLIS, Wis. -- Gov. Jim Doyle will be on hand to host the Governor's Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction Wednesday afternoon at the Wisconsin State Fair. The 40th Annual Governor's Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction is a long-standing tradition at the Wisconsin State Fair and involves hundreds of young people from across the state who have raised meat animals such as cattle, hogs, and sheep. The animals are judged during competition at the State Fair and the champions of the various classes are then auctioned to the highest bidders to benefit youth livestock education and scholarship programs.Ticket takers at the State Fair are now putting a black mark on all tickets as people enter the gates. Ticket scammers had been reselling used tickets, and the people who bought them found out the tickets were worthless when they tried to get into the fair.
