Officials: Fireworks Patrol Doles Out 10 Citations
City Launched Patrol To Curb Shooting Illegal Fireworks

MADISON, Wis. -- Madison fire officials are calling this year's fireworks patrol a success.The increased patrol was designed to catch those shooting off illegal fireworks in the act.Officials said that a total of 10 tickets were issued, each for $424.The cost of the ticket could be reduced. Last week, the Madison Fire Department wanted to lower the cost of the ticket in hopes of issuing more tickets to violators.However, the Madison Common Council approval couldn't be obtained in time for the July Fourth holiday.
