Whoopi Goldberg is leaping from the Oscars over to the Tonys.

Goldberg was announced Thursday as this year's host of the Tony Awards, a gig held in previous years by fellow actor Hugh Jackman. The show went without a host last year, opting for a string of presenters instead.

The show is set for June 15 at Radio City Music Hall in New York.

The actress and comedian said that not only does she love Broadway, she's "thrilled to be doing anything for the first time."

The nominations for the Tonys will be announced on Tuesday.

Goldberg, who won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for "Ghost," hosted the Oscars in 1994, 1996, 1999 and 2002. She was inadvertently snubbed in a host montage at this year's Oscars, but received an apology from show producer Gil Cates.

Goldberg is also a co-host on the daytime talk show "The View."
