Freakfest Tickets Go On Sale Friday

City-Sanctioned Event Set For Oct. 27

Updated: 8:53 pm CDT October 9,2007

With Halloween just a few short weeks away, tickets for Freakfest, the city-sanctioned State Street party, go on sale on Friday.

Organizers, city officials and police aim to see less chaos and violence downtown during what has become an annual event near the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus.

Last year was the first time partygoers needed tickets to get onto State Street and there was a dramatic decrease in the number of arrests compared to previous years.

This year's event will be on Saturday, Oct. 27, and features performances at three separate stages along State Street.

Stay tuned to WISC-TV and Channel 3000 for continuing coverage.
