Registration for 4 and 5-year-old kindergarten in the Madison Metropolitan School District will be held Monday, according to a release.
Registration will be at district elementary schools from 1-6 p.m., according to the release.
Officials suggest to save time parents and guardians should pre-register online, complete and print the verification form, and bring it to registration. Parents and guardians will also be required to show proof of age for their student and proof of residency.
Children are welcome to come to registration, but they are not required to attend, according to the release.
Four-year-old kindergarten is open to all children who live within the district and will be 4 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2014, according to the release. Students outside the district can also enroll into the district to participate in the program.
Half-day 4K programs are held at 57 MMSD elementary schools and early care and education centers, according to the release.
Five-year-old kindergarten is open to all children who live within the district and will be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2014, according to the release.
Five-year-old kindergarten registration is only for families who have a child who has not been in a MMSD 4K program, early childhood special education program or an early learning session, according to the release. Families whose children currently attend one of those programs do not need to register again and will only need to attend the enrollment date at their child’s school in August.
