Lodi School Officials Warn Teachers Of Layoffs, Hours Reductions
District Budget Coming In October

LODI, Wis. -- The Lodi School District has notified 18 teachers that they could be laid off or see a reduction of hours, according to school officials.Superintendent Chuck Pursell said that of the 18 teachers, 80 percent face layoffs while the rest might see reduction in hours.District officials will next review a survey to gauge what the community wants to do about a projected $1.6 million budget gap in the 2012-2013 school year.Pursell hasn't ruled out a possible referendum in August even though there is not much support for it in the community.He said hopes to make a final decision by June. The school district's budget plan will be released in October.
