Montello Cancels Summer School Classes Over Water Concerns

E. coli Found During Water Test

Posted: 9:51 pm CDT June 24, 2009

The Montello School District said it is canceling summer school Thursday because of a boil water ordinance issued for the city of Montello.

Montello School District Administrator Jeff Holmes said the city is under a boil water ordinance because E. coli was found in the water during a recent test.

Since the boil water notice came after the close of summer school Wednesday, Holmes said the district decided it needed a day off to prepare staff to take proper precautions.

The district said it hopes to have summer school back in session on Friday.
