Classes Canceled At Johnson Creek Schools After Threat

A written threat leads to the cancellation of classes Tuesday in one Jefferson County School District.

Officials at Johnson Creek Schools called off school after finding a threat written on a high school bathroom wall.

Police said that this is the third threat written on bathroom walls in the last few weeks.

School officials have canceled classes Tuesday at the elementary school, junior high school and the senior high school. Johnson Creek Schools are all located on one campus.

According to the school's Web site, all extracurricular activities Tuesday will take place as scheduled. A concert scheduled for Monday night was called off.

Michael Garvey, the superintendent of Johnson Creek Schools, said that district officials are working with law enforcement, WISC-TV reported.

No one is in custody.

School officials said that classes will resume on Wednesday and security will be increased for the rest of the school year, according to a news release.

Johnson Creek Schools is located about 45 minutes east of Madison.
