On Wednesday, children accomplished that goal at the Cypress Spray Park on Madison's south side.

"It was really hot out today," said Ashleigh Hill. "I like how it's interactive, how you got to push the buttons to get the water going and stuff."

As the temperature rises, keeping cool isn't just about feeling cool. Doctors said people must keep their body hydrated to stay healthy in the heat, WISC-TV reported.

"You need to take some extra precautions in the heat, especially with the humidity your sweat doesn't do an efficient job of cooling you, and you can get overheated very quickly," said Dr. Anthony Callisto of the Emergency Medicine Department at St. Mary's Hospital. "Excessive sweating, if your heart rate goes up, if you feel confused, nauseated, headaches, those sorts of things, they're signs of some heat trouble."
