NCAA Game Summary - U-C-F At Marshall

(Sports Network) - Freshman tailback Brynn Harvey racked up a career-high 150 rushing yards and scored one touchdown as the UCF Golden Knights cruised to a 30-14 victory over the Marshall Thundering Herd in Conference USA action.

Sha'reff Rashad had two interceptions in the triumph for UCF (3-7, 2-4 C-USA).

Darius Marshall ran for 142 yards on only 16 carries in the setback for Marshall (4-6, 3-3).

UCF led 10-0 after the first quarter on the strength of a fumble recovery in the end zone by Jamar Newsome and a 27-yard field goal by Nick Cattoi.

The Golden Knights pushed their advantage to 13-0 midway through the second quarter on a 24-yard field goal by Cattoi.

Marshall finally got on the board with 5:59 remaining in the first half on a one-yard touchdown run by Chubb Small, cutting the deficit to 13-7.

Less than two minutes later, UCF pushed its advantage to 20-7 on a two-yard touchdown pass from Rob Calabrese to John Lubischer.

In the third quarter, Marshall made the score 20-14 with a 15-yard touchdown pass from Mark Cann to Cody Slate.

Fortunately for the Golden Knights, they were able to pitch a shutout over the final 24 minutes of the game. They brought the score to its final of 30-14 on a 24-yard field goal by Cattoi and a 50-yard touchdown scamper by Harvey.

The two teams combined for 113 passing yards, including 29 yards for UCF on 4- of-17 pass efficiency.
