MADISON, Wis. -

The YMCA of Dane County will offer drop-in care at three branches to provide childcare for parents who work if area schools are closed due to winter weather, according to a release.

The YMCA of Dane County Lussier Family East, Lussier Family West and Northeast YMCA branches will be open for registration between 7 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., officials said. Children must be picked up from the branch by 6 p.m.

Parents must provide a sack lunch, but healthy snacks will be provided, according to the release.

“The YMCA is here to meet the needs of our community and we want to be part of the solution,” President and CEO of the YMCA of Dane County Carrie Wall said in the release. “We can provide students quality programming and the response from parents needing child care has been very positive.”

The cost for all day drop-in care is $35 per child for YMCA members and $50 per child for program members, according to the release.
