Graco is recalling 1.9 million infant car seats in what is now the largest seat recall in U.S. history, officials told The Associated Press.

Earlier this year, the company recalled 4.2 million toddler seats because of a problem with the harness buckles getting stuck, the AP reported.  But the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration had also demanded the infant seats be recalled, the AP said.

The AP reported that the agency had sent a letter to the company asking why the other seats weren’t recalled.

Food and drinks can gum up the buckles. In some cases, parents had to cut the harnesses to get their children out.
